Planning on being bold in style with flower hair accessories? There are a lot for sale online, but wouldn’t it be fun if you can create your own? Whether you want real blossoms or real-looking stylized fake flowers, you can make these accessories with a little DIY information and some creativity. Choose from below which appeals to you most.

Barrettes

Use crepe paper and quick-drying glue to make pretty designs for your barrettes. Cut the crepe into petal shapes. Choose colors wisely, those that are bright are usually good choices. Skewer the petals together and dip in glue. Harden for some time and spray on some finish for a better look. Now, attach it to your favourite barrette, or brooch, or headband. Make lots of design so you have something different to use every day.

Pins and Clips

Whether permanent or interchangeable, add flower to your clips and pins for added life. You can use a hot glue stick to join petals together and wire it to a clip or bobby pin. If you want to change designs daily, make a brad to be the center of the flower. A brad wraps and unwraps easily around a clip. Trying to be a little more daring? Add rhinestones, sequins, or jewels to the petals or at the center. Apply tiny dots of glue using a toothpick. Also, you can wrap these flowers on a matching ribbon before gluing them to your clip.

Tiaras

Real blossoms can also be used for flower hair accessories. Cut fresh flowers and foliage and arrange them anyway you want. Tape the flowers together to make them sturdy. Large flowers may need wire support. Add these to you headbands or tiara using wire. Dried flowers can be directly glued on. Experiment on different types, sizes, and colors of flowers and decide which looks best.
