Protect your car or truck beds with spray-on bedliner. Bed protectors, including spray-on types, are polyurethane-containing compounds that help improve the performance of your vehicles.
In choosing what type or brand of spray-on bedliner to use, it is a good habit to consider the pros and cons. Good types of bedliners help to dampen road noise. Aside from aesthetic reasons, they also must help against protecting your car from dirt and harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Do-it-yourself bedliners are available, but if you do not know to use them, better ask someone to do it. The liners must be sprayed evenly and must bond thoroughly to you truck beds. Peeling and fading can result overtime due to natural wear and tear, that’s why they must be repairable just by adding some more of the liner over the old ones. But if you have the time and money, it is always best to scuff off the old layers and apply several layers of fresh bedliners.
Beware of those brands that stain hands and clothing. Or some have very short shelf lives that unused portions often go to waste. Summer heat can make some get gooey and peel off. That is characteristic of urethane but some brands are able to better endure the heat than others.
Applying spray-on bedliner must be done in well-ventilated areas. Proper protective clothing must be worn. Urethane is toxic if inhaled too much or if there is frequent skin contact. Be careful always. Wear gloves, masks, long-sleeves, pants and closed shoes. When done properly, these can last for a few years without maintenance while protecting your most precious car.
