Most people do not really give a second thought to using a paper cup dispenser. After all, this innocuous device seems to serve one very simple purpose only — and that is to hold paper cups in their place. But the truth is: dispensers of this type have more hygienic functions.

For one thing, it helps keep paper cups sanitized and ready for use. Just imagine how much dirt and grime can settle within the rims and cups of these drinking tools if the cups are left exposed to the elements. Airborne contaminants and even liquid-based pollutants settle very quickly on any surface; and because these are microscopic, you really have no idea how much you germs, bacteria or fungi spores you might be consuming in your drink.

And if that is not bad enough, can you just imagine tiny, teeny crawlers and insects walking in and around the rims of the cups if you leave these overnight? If that does not make you want to install a paper cup dispenser, then we don’t know what will.

But this type of dispenser is also great in terms of convenience. You do not have to grapple with the entire stack of paper cups in order to get one that you can use. With a dispenser, you simply have to pull the cup from the bottom pile and use it immediately. This also helps lessen the chances of dirty hands touching the rims of the other unused paper cups.

You also do not need to wash the cups after using. You can throw these out with your other paper recyclables.
