Aruba is a thirty-three kilometer long island which is found in the southern Caribbean Sea. This is a place rich with culture and is holds spectacular sights and places to visit. The Aruba gold coast is a constant place of interest among tourists and even those who wish to live in the area after falling in-love with the place.

There are many places to see which holds great history. People would be able to know more about the island while appreciating the view. And though this place does not necessarily have the same practices we have gone accustomed to, there are some fascinating facts which everyone can be pleased about.

Every fifth of December for example, the locals hold an annual festivity in honor of St. Nicolas. They celebrate the birthday of St. Nicolas – or more popularly known as SinterKlaas. The appearance of this character is a bit different than our childhood Christmas favorite, Santa Claus. He has dark skin, dressed in bishop’s robes and rides a white horse. Similarly, he is accompanied by his helpers – more formally known as “Zwarte Pieten”. As a tradition, children who hope to receive goodies from SinterKlaas would leave out shoes and treats for his horse.

The Aruba gold coast community, culture and practices is not only limited to the festivities people enjoy. They are also consistently spreading the message of peace and love through these simple celebrations. And for people who visit the place, it is not difficult to listen and feel peace. The marvelous beaches and the breathtaking sights can make any person forget all their worries in the world.
